Primitive Folk Art Doves with Heart Pocket
Door Greeter / Wall Hanging

For your consideration I have this gorgeous folk art door greeter/ wall hanging featuring doves and heart pocket.

The doves are fashioned so that they create a heart with wings.

This piece is made by me using my own design. The doves and heart are made from stained and painted muslin.

They feature a cracked paint patina.

The wings are attached and sewn into place with two vintage buttons.

The tails and wings have been quilted.

The dove's eyes are french knots.

The prim envelope in the heart pocket is made from stained Warm and Natural.

The heart pocket has a craked paint finish, stained lace and is filled with sweet annie, dried flower pods, and a prim hand sewn envelope. The envelope is closed with a vintage red button and has a printed hang tag featuring a dove.
 

I have added a wire hanger to the heart and doves for hanging.

The heart pocket is attached to the doves by two rusty bells at their beaks and one on the tails.

Measurements:

Wing tip to Wing tip width is 22"

Height is about 11.5"

Dove Body width is 13"

This is an absolutely beautiful piece and would look wonderful at home in a primitive, cottage shabby or granny chic decor.
